Shikoku: The Search for the Middle Way.

Family board game inspired by Japan.

Tradition says that people have a year of bad luck and calamities: men, when they turn 42, and women, at 33. To try to ward off bad luck, pilgrims who reach these ages go to the Yakuoji Temple, which houses the healing Buddha Yakushi Nyorai.

Players embody these pilgrims. The goal is to climb the 33 steps leading to the pagoda, but always looking for the middle way, avoiding the extremes.

A board game for the whole family
That is why it is not well seen or to be the first nor the last to arrive. The winners of the game will be those players who are in second and penultimate position.
